Some people are a little confused about the difference between treatments that help reduce wrinkling and dermal fillers.
Botulinum Toxin Type A is injected into a muscle. It is a prescription-only medication; therefore, your practitioner must be a prescribing nurse or a nurse who works alongside a doctor.
I have a Medical Director attached to my clinic so at times I may have stock available to treat.
Otherwise a consultation is necessary before your prescription is ordered, and this consultation would need to be repeated every six months.
If you understand what this treatment can and cannot do, it will guide your expectation of the outcome of this treatment. It has a subtle effect, which helps you look fresher and less tired or angry.
There are a few brands of Botulinum Toxin on the market, and research states that essentially they all act much the same. You may have learned about these toxin treatments and have a preference for the one you are treated with. If this is the case, that is what I will order for you. The type of toxin you use can be changed at a further treatment.
Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers
This product is considered a temporary product it lasts 6 - 12 months, sometimes longer, it also lasts longer with subsequent treatments. Research has found that after a HA treatment has integrated with your skin cells it contributes to making stronger tissue, so although some volume may be lost over time, stronger firmer tissue remains behind.
If anything should be unsatisfactory with HA treatments it can be dissolved.
The products come in different molecular weights so that they can be used for very fine lines or skin boosting, or can fill deeper wrinkles; some of the products are for volumising, and are injected on a deeper plane.
